Commonly Asked Questions
Q. My car has an automatic gearbox, is the Radiator different to a manual?
A. Yes it is.
Q. If you haven’t got the Radiator that I need for my vehicle in stock, how quickly can you get one for me?
A. Usually the next day.
Q. I keep finding small pools of water on the garage floor. Have I got a leaking Radiator?
A. Yes, most likely. Check your water level now, keep it topped up and give us a call.
Q. My Radiator has “cold spots” do I need a new one?
A. Yes, you do. The radiator should be of an equal temperature all over. Cold spots are symptomatic of a blocked radiator.
Q. How long does it take to fit a Radiator?
A. It depends on the make and model of your vehicle. Usually somewhere between 1 ½ to 4 hours
Q. Can I just buy a Radiator and fit it myself?
A. Yes. But you may need specialist tools. And, when a Radiator is fitted it is essential that the system is checked properly for air locks. So, if you aren’t used to working on cars perhaps our fitting service maybe of interest to you.
Q. I am not certain whether or not there is something wrong with my Radiator. Can you come out and check it for me?
A. Yes, we can come and test it for you. However there is a call out charge for this service. We will only recommend replacing your Radiator if it is necessary. And, if so the call out charge will be wavered.
Q. How often should my Radiator be checked?
A. In summer, winter and before you embark on a long journey. Especially if you are travelling abroad or you are towing.
Q. Can you come out at the weekend or in an evening? As we both work and don’t get home until 6.30pm
A. Yes we can. However there is a call out charge for out of hour’s service. (Weekends and after 6pm week days)
Q. Can you put Antifreeze in for me?
A. Of course. We always include antifreeze when we fit a Radiator for our customers, whatever the time of year. And we include it in the fitting service.
